I love those brightly colored switch engines! Looks like a good unit that will way out perform that old GE

I finished up another little trestle diorama in HO scale.

New

With my new layout underway, I am having to scratch build some items. Here is a vacuum system for unloading cement hoppers ( in progress).

Another week

Kevin the paint scheme is cool on that very industrial look to it.  Greg the bridge is cool. I like the Etsy stuff you are selling too. Entertaining.

Mine for this week is an old Robins Rail kit I got from a friend as he was doing some liquidation.  Enjoy, Steve

Thanks Guys

Thank you for the compliments. This was my railroad growing up in Blue Lake. When times were good it was two trips per day to the NWP interchange at Korblex. They never had nothing but the 44toners but I could not resist doing a MP15 AC in there paint scheme. Kevin

Ok, now that I've found the correct WPF... Hopefully the new year is finding everyone well.  Here's a few shots of my geep and uboat with her shoving platform.  I'm going to make an effort for more consistent layout progress this coming year.

2020 or 2021?

The funniest part was that the 2020 thread was getting more activity.

After a long time...

I haven't posted anything here in ages (probably since about 2017 or so). I've been busy working on setting up my side business and haven't had much time to do any model railroading. But I dusted off some of the track and ran a loco for fun. Have a better phone now so photos look much better!

  On January 1, 2021 a Mr. S.

0407(1).jpeg

On January 1, 2021 a Mr. S. Clause arrived in Alsen, La to inspect the securement of one red sleigh. Said sleigh had just completed annual circumnavigation duties and a post-use refurbishment at Wizard of the Woods, a  DKS industry. The sleigh will be pulled back to Hay River, Northwest Territories, Canada where it will be off loaded for further shipments north. This special move will be completed by CN 1439, seen at the extreme left, a recently restored GMD-1. CN engineer Mike  "Puddington" McGrattan who will helm this special move can be seen on the porch of KCS 656 assisting with the inspection. Mr. Clause is expected to make the entire transit in the Milwaukee Road caboose attached to the right just out of frame.

Happy New Year!

N scale Housatonic RR Progress

Here is a quick cell phone video that shows some of the progress I was able to make on my N scale Housatonic RR layout.  It had sat dormant for years, but I finally finished wiring and have a good start on basic scenery.  There is a lot more to do, but it feels good to be back modeling again.

Pulling an empty hopper in Hagerstown

The B&O Washington County Branch ran from Weverton, MD to Hagerstown, MD.   Here the town switcher, a Proto 2000 Heritage 0-8-0, pulls a hopper from the local coal and feed dealer.

The loco was repainted with Tru-color paints, decaled with MicroScale decals, and appropriately weathered to reflect years of hard use.

CN extra 4243 arrives

%20Geeps.jpg 20Geeps2.jpg

CN extra 4243 pulls into Flin Flon and prepares to yard it's train. The crew will take the consist to the Esso siding and wait for the HBM&S crew to get the outbound train ready to depart later in the day. There is some concern that the locomotives may not fit in the siding.
