It's another week . . . post 'em if you got 'em.  There were a few late-comers in last week's post.  Check them out, then come back here afterward.

This is a little display I made over Christmas.

Here’s photo of the finished product on the mantel underneath one of my grandmother’s paintings and a couple of photos from when the scenery was drying. I also have to add this was great way for me to convince my wife to allow a few trains out of the train room and into our living space

Working on the Mine Scene

I've been renovating an area of my layout to add a mine dump trestle and two abandoned mine entrances. I like how lighting created shadows. There's still work to be done but it's coming along. Happy New Year to all. Alex

Evolving scene

My structure project is still awaiting some doors in the mail before i can finish it so I've slowly been working out some of the larger details like a road into the area around it. Also took care of some long overdue ballasting work.  Starting to evolve into something...

Chris that looks beautiful

Chris that looks beautiful sitting on top of your mantel.

Here are 2 freight cars I have been working on.

First is a ScaleTrains 68' flat car with rail load. Second is a woodchip car modeled from a prototype photo with scratch built woodchip load.IMG_0946.JPG IMG_0948.JPG I also captured ACWR GP40-2LW and SD40-3 crossing the Rock River.

Great photos once again this week from everyone.

Thanks for the comments guys. Trains and Christmas go together so well. Christmas truly is the most wonderful time of the year. Time to enjoy family and friends. Time to relax. Time to be thankful and be a blessing to others.

Nice work on those freight cars Jeff as well as the beautiful trestle scene.

I know my wife would love that chocolate covered cherry on the end of the train Dave. She loves it when I surprise her with chocolate

Pioneer Zephyr

The headlights of a woodie light the Pioneer Zephyr which is a little late today — it usually ran during daylight hours.

I used Adobe Lightroom to lighten the image in front of the auto to simulate the headlight beams.

Great start this week

Our local NMRA monthly contest is open loads for January so I tried to take a few photos today. The fresh snow we got really made it bright out here.  Hope Santa was good to everyone.  Merry Christmas and Happy New Year (gotta be better next year right?)   Steve

I thought that was the real

I thought that was the real train Steve.

I think I have a transformer loaded car like that in my storage collection,...but not as realistic as yours !

Thanks Brian

I think Walthers made a transformer.  This car is 3D printed along with the trucks   The transformer is also 3D printed by the same guy.  It was built off the Frisco drawings.  Thanks again

@ Missy

Thank you. I used a Heki mat #1856. It’s very easy to use. Just stretch and glue in place.
