As mentioned in my last blog entry I had purchased a Kitwood Hill 0n30 turntable and modified it for use on my H0 scale layout. As promissed I took some photos of the turntalbe.

To use the turntable on my H0 layout, I replaced the original turntable deck, with a scratchbuild deck, made from 1.5mm thick plywood, in to which I scribed in lines with a distance of about 2mm between them. As a cutting template I used the original deck. I also scribed aditional grooves in to the turntable walls. I also modified the handrails on the turntable deck. First I drilled 0.6mm holes about 5 to 6mm below the middle hole of the handrail stanchions. After these was done I shortend the stanchions, so that they are only a bit higher than the height of the middle hole. I in the upper holes I put in the wire provided with the kit, and in the holes made by me I put in a 0.5mm wire. Then I glued in the stanchions according to the instructions.

Do you have any shots of the entire installation?

Looks very good!

Is the turntable indexed somehow, or are you just exceptionally good at telling it where to stop?

Hello Jeff,

I'm sorry but the turntable comes without an indexing device. You have to aling the turntablebridge by eye. But as you might have seen in the video, the rotation speed of the bridge is quite slow, so I think it is doable to aling the bridge by eye.
