Hello everyone, this is my first post to the forums.  I figured what way better than to share some drawings I found a few days ago while researching.  They are Union Pacific Engineering drawings of just about anything to do with trackwork, like roadbed, track design, turnouts, road crossings, switch stands, etc.  They are all PDF files, and just click on the title of the section to see them.  These were adopted in 1998 and were revised in 2004.  Hope somebody else can use them as well.

Here is the web address to get to them: http://www.uprr.com/aboutup/operations/specs/track/index.shtml

Thanks much for sharing. I ran across this long ago, but had forgotten about it. Good data.

great topic

I also have drawings from Union pacific.   These are blueprints of the buildings build by UP in my hove town of Ellis Kansas.  The original blueprints have been reduced to HO scale by my good friend Bob Odland.  He has spent a lifetime reproducing these drawings of UP buildings all over the UP lines.  Anyone interested?

UP drawings

What about putting them in the mag, AFTER checking with UP about copyright?. Would be like having the start of a monthly prototype drawing column. Jose.

UP drawings

Great idea.  I will do some checking and see if I can make tat happen.   Bob Odland is the person that has all of the drawings in HO scale.  I will being seeing him in the spring (April or May)  If I get the go ahead I could start with the drawings of Ellis Kansas There are about 30 - 35 buildings that I could put on the Mag.  Lets see what happens.

Yes, please do

Yes, we'd like to hear how this comes out. We are interested in doing drawings in MRH if we can find the right mix of quality and cost.

Might also contact the UP

Might also contact the UP Historical Society. Perhaps this is something marketable. It would be great to see all these in a book.
