You're working through Labor Day? (Sad!)

Don't worry. We can wait, and should be to busy grilling with family to play with trains.

(that comes by November)

Goal

The stated publishing target for some time now has been the first Friday of the month on the cover of the magazine.

For the past several months the definitive cleaned up and corrected magazine has been nailed down early in the following week. Not sure why people can't remember this.

The magazine shows up at fairly regular intervals, unlike some paper publications in the past that would simply disappear for a month or two.

@Graham Line

I believe the goal was established in 2017 as last Friday of the prior month except as personal events interfered (or in this case the COVID-19 pandemic).

Yep

That was, indeed, the goal at the time, but times have changed due to staffing, workload, and so on.

Due to the passing....

Due to the passing of my little brother 2 weeks ago, my life has been tipped upside down, and I haven't had much time to do, or check up on things here. I hope everyone else is doing well, and I was also wondering when the new issue might be coming out. I know, I am excited about it. AND I am not pushing. I am very grateful to Joe and his crew for their hard work, and devotion to this magnificent project. I just need something else to read, and keep my mind moving in the right direction.

I look forward to the release!

Blessing to all....

Taz, That's terrible to hear

Taz,

That's terrible to hear about your brother.  Losing a loved one hurts terribly, but at least it gets easier to handle the heartache with time.

As for the magazine, I couldn't much care if it doesn't come out exactly on time each month.  It is free after all and I'd rather have the staff at MRH put together the best magazine they can every month rather than trying to meet deadlines.

Status update

MRH has finished staff review and is being finalized for release. I expect to post it to the website tomorrow (Sunday) morning. Running Extra is currently in staff review. I don't expect to release it until Monday evening late. And yes, the staff reductions and cost-cutting measures from the pandemic have thrown a big clinker into our schedule. Assuming things continue to slowly improve, we're hoping to get back to an earlier release schedule by 2021.

Thanks, James....

I hope that it didn't come out wrong. I am not a pushy person... I am sorry. I apologize to y'all if it came out wrong. I guess I am still in a terrible state of mind. I cannot even go to the memorial, because of the expense, and the lock down of the virus in Illinois... I would be forced to stay away, even though I am not infected.

It just came as a terrible shock to all of us who were close to him. I am still trying to wrap my head around it...

I just thought I could read something different, and keep my mind from dwelling on him being gone...

Guess I shouldn't have said anything. I haven't any family close, so, not many to talk to.

I look forward to its release.... It has been my distinct pleasure to be a part of this very nice, and family like institution...

Blessings all...

Taz...

There's nothing to apologize for...

Everyone looks forward to each issue of the magazine at the beginning of the month.  It's a great way to get a month's worth of inspiration to carry through a few weeks of projects.

If anything, I should apologize because in no way was my comment a criticism of you or your grief.  That probably should have been in two posts to make it clear.  Some people get impatient when stuff doesn't happen as expected.  You aren't one of those people though, just someone looking for something that will bring a bit of joy to life while going through hard times.  I truly hope you'll have enough time to process through the loss of your brother and that you'll get back in the saddle when you're ready.

Yes, sorry to hear about your loss

Yes, sorry to hear about your loss, it's not easy. I discovered my birth family coming up on two years ago, and found out I had two sisters I never knew I had. I just barely got to know the youngest (ten years younger than me) and she passed away from chronic pancreatitis. Very sad, first sibling I've lost and it had to be the youngest of all my sibs. It's a real bummer when you loose a sibling that's younger than you.
