Summer is two thirds done, and traditional summer ends in a week. Through this pandemic I have been working regular hours at the gold mine I work at. Vacation was staycation this year so no new adventures to model railroads, new hobby shops or railway museums. Lots of virtual participation and online hobby shop purchases.

Summer weather has been great so I have not touched my layout much since June.  When the realities of COVID set in earlier in the spring I did Finish off all the kits I had in my stash. After I ran out of kits it was time to do maintenance on everything that moves. Here are a number of completed projects from the past several months.

Snow scene. A storm blew through this corner of the layout allowing some big mammals to appear that are not normally found in the area.

Soaring eagle. Are you able to spot it?

Mather stock cars are now MOW. No more moo. I bought several of these cars to strip for parts. As part of my COVID boredom I chopped up what I had left and turned them into maintenance cars for use at the mine.

Mrc Wifi

For the size of my layout the MRC wifi works well. I had to remember to set my iPad throttle to a number I didn’t already have and all was fine. I expect to get a lot more use out of it this winter when I run trains regularly. I do like walking around versus the tethered hand helds.
