I use my old iPad 3 for reading the MRH Forums when away from my computer but recently when I try to post it comes Union Pacific with the message "Browser Local Storage is full, clear your storage or increase database size". It only does this when using the MRH Forums when writing a post.

I have done done all the obvious things like clearing the Safari History etc. but to no avail!

Help!

New AutoSave system

Dear Graeme,

You obviously have not used that iPad to post in the last month or so...

The issue relates to the new AutoSave system here on MRH (it's not just _your_ iPad)...

See here (or Search at top right) for the details and solutions...

Specifically, here’s how you solve this on an iPad

  1. In Settings, select Safari.
  2. Scroll down to the bottom of the Safari settings - you should see “Advanced” - click that.
  3. In the Advanced safari settings, the first thing should be “Website Data”. Click that. That may take some time to load.
  4. Once it loads, in the search box at the top type “model-railroad-hobbyist.com”, or at least enough of it that the list shortens down to just a few items and you can see “model-railroad-hobbyist.com”.
  5. (Even if you can see it in the initial display, it seems to be necessary to do a search to get the edit button.).
  6. Once you have the short list of search results, notice the edit button in the bottom right corner - click it.
  7. That should put red circles with little white horizontal lines in them at the left of each item in the list.
  8. Click the one next to “model-railroad-hobbyist.com”
  9. Hit the delete button that appears at the right end of that item
  10. Hit the done button in the lower right corner

I think that should do the trick.

I tried this previously...

... But I still the dreaded red boxes. The safari website History is totally empty! Any other suggestions?

This is an iPad, right?

Please get to the screen in step 6 and then do a screen grab. Email the screen grab to office@mrhmag.com.
