From the looks of it, they are readying for a freight special as the consists was waiting for an engine and a caboose, but it was quite the site to get up close and personal with some ..... pipe gone and idler flats!

Ready to rock and roll....

Also sitting in the yard was D&RGW 0472 Rotary OY Tank Car

And Rotary OY wasn't far away.......

Obviously it would be much more exciting to see this behemoth spewing snow through the air, but just looking at the plow blades makes you feel how hard this piece of machinery worked to clear the line to Cumbres Pass.

But a couple more gems awaited me on my yard journey.  Where's the family, you may ask.  I hope having a good time.
