MRH magazine and Running Extra are out for proofing right now. We will place all the ads next, then test all the links. I’m projecting a Wednesday release for MRH and a Thursday release for Running Extra. Remember RE is always a day after MRH because MRH is in the back and we always need an extra day to allow MRH to bake in so we find any egregious errors first.

Placing ads

Okay, placing ads and entering proofing errors found. Youtube video for What’s Neat edited and rendered, ready for upload. With ads placed, click testing of the entire issue can start. Still on track for a Wednesday release of MRH and a Thursday release of Running Extra.

Running Extra?

If Running Extra is late should we just call it Running Late?

And I'll be running away now after that bad joke...

I am amazed each month at the fine job you do

Having worked in tech writing for most of my career,  and having dealt with deadlines, I'm very impressed with the quality of MRH and RE every month.

I'm looking forward to the next issue, as I always do.  Keep up the good work, take some time to enjoy the sunset tonight (or sunrise tomorrow, if you get up that early voluntarily), and thanks.

Was this issue produced on the Affinity platform?

Hi Joe,

Have you switched completely to the Affinity platform yet.

Will you accept article's from Affinity which module should be used?

Do you have a page template for authors to use for submission?

Now that I have the suite I just might get a small article written to submit.

Great job! I await eagerly for it's release each month.

Be CVna ya

Mike

Affinity Photo and Affinity Designer

We're now using Affinity Photo and Affinity Designer for the June issue. We're planning to do the July issue with Affinity Publisher, so not quite yet. We're building new masters using Affinity Publisher as our June project, then will use the new publisher masters next month. As for article submissions, you can use MS Word or Libre Office/Open Office to write them. No need to bother with a lot of fancy formatting, just write the text and drop in the photos with captions about where they go. We'll do the fancy pasteup here.

June issue is done

June issue is done ... Rollout involves building the feedback pages and building the download page. Then we need to make the three versions for posting: landscape, portrait, and online editions. Finally, we generate each PDF, then upload the landscape and portrait editions. From the online PDF we generate the online edition and upload that. Finally, we test each access page and if it all works, we make all the new issue pages public. Takes about 3 hours, all told.
