Hello All,

Could I get some help identifying this S Scale Steam swiitcher. It's made of metal, and weighs 1 Lb 7 oz.

Inherited as one of several engines from my father who was avid modeler. I'm consdering which to keep for my kids and which to sell.

No mfgr notation anywhere. I'm wondering if it's a painted black brass type?

Pics attached.

It runs though think it needs some attention to run on a track unassisted

Youtube video if comes through: https://youtu.be/bzkJqdISmkI

Thank you!

Rex

Looks like a Rex docksider. Metal casting ( zamac?). The model was introduced back in the 1950’s . It was sold in later years by Putt Models.

guessing a Rex dockside

I'm guessing this dockside (modeled after a B&O locomotive) was made by Rex sometime before 1990.

This one is in beautiful condition!

They were never great runners, due to limitations in both gears and motors.
