This is a still picture of the UFO scene on my N-Scale ATSF Paradigm Division that was posted on my YouTube channel as part of a subscriber contest video a couple of months ago.  The UFO and the beam were both 3D printed.  The light was created using a LED glued into the top of the beam and controlled by wires leading to a LED tester off camera.  Every few months I like to have a funny incident, such as UFOs and/or a Bigfoot (an actual N-Scale figure) sighting.

It's a typical tourist trap, taking advantage of the gullible and credulous.

The saucer is from a key chain light... I opened it up and put a large RGB LED cluster inside, setting up each color to flash independantly

Great Fun

Great idea to use the saucer from the key chain light.  It is always a lot of fun to add humor to our layouts.

Not Roswell

Greg,

Sorry but it is not Roswell (I freelance model the ATSF from KC, MO into part of KS).  The UFO was actually beaming down crates of toilet paper and hand sanitizer for my N-Scale people to help with the current crisis. The layout has had a previous UFO incident where the Army had to get involved so it might be getting a bit of a Roswell atmosphere.

What, no Star Ship Enterprise

What, no Star Ship Enterprise anywhere?  It would qualify as a UFO if on a 20th century layout.  Remember the episode "Tomorrow is Yesterday"

There is a layout at the Timonium show that features a UFO on one of the modules.

Well, in the re-boot...

The Enterprise (Kelvin timeline) was built in a shipyard in Iowa. Didn't see any rail facility in the movie, , but it certainly isn't beyond the realm of possibility parts would be delivered by rail.

Quote:
The Prime Timeline Constitution-class Enterprise is 288.6 meters in length, while the Galaxy-class Enterprise-D is 641 meters in length, but both are topped by the Kelvin Timeline Constitution-class Enterprise that has a length of 1,200 meters, according to the 2009 reference book Star Trek – The Art of The Film.Jul 21, 2017
It's.... big. Really big... the Kelvin timeline Enterprise (from the J. J. Abrams reboot, the only one built ON Earth, rather than ABOVE it, Chris Pine as Kirk...) would be 13.77 Meters long in HO (!!)  and 7.5 m in N...

Yeah.... It's big...

The TOS (The Original Series) Enterprise (William Shatner's Kirk) was "only" 288.6 m, which is 3.313 m in HO, 1.803 m in N (5.92 feet, which just barely fits on a six foot module.

The ST:TNG (Star Trek: The Next Generation, Captain Picard) Enterprise D  works out to be 7.35 m in HO, and 4.006 m in N.

Both of these were assembled in orbit, in the San Francisco yards. No indication in the lore on where the parts were manufactured.

By way of contrast, the USS Gerald Ford (CVN-78) is 337 m long, ( HO: 3.869 m, N: 2.106 m)

Yeah, I'm a Trekker....

Nice

I wonder if it has been investigated by the Ancient Aliens show on the History Channel.

Sorry but no Enterprise

We watch the Ancient Aliens show and I sort of used their UFO descriptions as my inspiration.....
