Construction looking good

I agree,  When it comes to construction.  More materials and tools are always better than not enough.

Looks like more track needed for this addition.

Took 2 friends and I a little over 6 yrs.  mostly wk/ends to build 150 ft.  of n/s sectional track.

You are making it look easy as a one man show.

Keep it going and stay safe.

New peninsula...

Instead of curving your peninsula blob 45 deg, why don't you just continue to the 3rd pole and incorporate it into the blob?

That way you will have a wider gap between the blob and the benchwork on the opposite wall.

I do understand that the stairs are there, so the edge of the blob would actually incorporate the pole, and you can disguise that with any number of scenic elements - a tunnel for example on that side of the blob, next to the pole, or use the pole as one of the silos in a grain industry.

Your new design

I really like your new ideas Big Al. Also am enjoying your videos.

That loop though, could easily be smaller, you said you have a 7' loop? - You could cut it back to 6' and still have a generous mainline radius. That way, you won't risk having a couple of pinch points that you may regret once you get several operators moving around. My last layout had a pinch point of 2'. That was fine when both myself and my guys were "narrow gauge". Now, we all tend to be "broad gauge" as we get older and not as easy to pass by each other. I am just building my new layout now and all the aisles on the new layout will be a minimum width of 3'.

Keep up with the videos, they are great.
