Deemiorgos

I have been meaning to weather this shiny model for some time.

I mixed up a batch/filter of 5 percent CNR green with 95 percent flat hazy clear coat and airbrushed the sides.

Then I gave is a wash with some dark brown and black.

I used these coloured pencils to highlight the edges of the boards.

I masked off the sides and

I masked off the sides and airbrushed the roof with black with a few drops white in it.

Later when it was dry, I sprinkled some white and raw umber tint onto it then airbrushed a flat clear coat onto it.

I highlighted the details by dry brushing; using raw umber.

Next post will be about weathering the trucks and undercarriage plus finishing touches for the roof and some side boards on the side of the car.

It's a brass model made in

It's a brass model made in China and the running board has been made, in my opinion, with exaggerated grain, gouges, and splits. Looks more wear in O scale  ; )

I will be doing a little more detailing on a few boards on each side. I got the idea seeing the prototype of this model. Will keep you posted.

I got the undercarriage painted. I used a very dark brown and dusted it with some brown and grey chalk and sealed it.
