bear creek

I guess I dunno whether to be embarassed or pleased that the demo issue seems to be the Charlie and his Bare Creek RR show. I will say that I'm darned impressed by what Joe's doing with MRH magazine. And I've known him for close to 10 years now - but he somehow keeps surprising me.

I can hardly wait to see what the first full issue is going to look like. Everytime I think I understand what's going on Joe figures out how to do it better! I think he may be one of the few people on the planet with the skill set needed to do this, publishing, major model train knowledge/skill, heavy duty web programming background, photography and video and graphic arts, good writing style, and a desire to share with others.

I feel like a little kid waiting for Christmas to come!

I'll second Joe's call to everyone though: if there's something you'd like to see in the magazine, it won't happen unless 'someone' writes and submits it (I'm about fully committed at this point, so that means somebody besides me!). So for all you guys with latent author genes in your DNA strands, here's your chance. Dust off that camera and wordprocessor, go ahead and write about something you're passionate about! Let the rest of us see what it is about trains that gets YOUR clock wound!

I like model railroad ops and photography. What do you like?

Thanks, Charlie!

Appreciate your kind words, Charlie!

I'm lucky enough to live within 45 minutes of Charlie, our wives know each other and are the best of friends, and we all communicate frequently about many things besides just trains.

Charlie's content got used for the sample issue because he's close and easy to dialog with about his content.

The final issue, of course, will have more than just Charlie - although Charlie is an excellent and innovative modeler in his own right, so we'll see more of Charlie's work in future issues as well.

I think you'll find Charlie's articles to be most useful in helping you with your own model railroading endeavors.
