Had a few beer cars arrive at the shop today. First stop, tune the truck, and replace stock wheels with Intermountain wheels. This one already had knuckle couplers so I didn't install Kadee's.

Considering what these bring, if you can find any, ( mine are mostly Greenway and Show Me ) I can't be the only guy on here collecting them.

I think the saying is, "post 'em if you've got 'em."

Here's a couple

Here's a couple I got somewhere. The reefers are Athearn but I'm sure the paint is custom.

One we made for a local brewing company.

9%5B1%5D.JPG

Started life as an On30 Bachmann reefer with custom paint and decals. Wild Rose is a local watering hole on a decommissioned armed forces base. They live in a Quonset hut that was once part of the motor pool. the building number is AF23, hence the designation of this car.

Good beer too!

Falls City Beer - Louisville, Ky

My Dad used to drink it and said: "They should put it back in the horse".

Here is one running daily on my layout.

A 36' car from Roundhouse, with Kadee couplers and wheels.

Apparently more modern 61' RBL beer cars are out-of-scope for this topic so I've bowed out.

Nice.

Coors is arriving in an unprototypical manner on the Milwaukee Road in 1973. It wasn't available east of the Mississippi in '73, was it?

Awesome!

Reminds me of an old college adventure ( truck, cans and all ) that I think is best kept to myself...lol.

At least the police weren't present.

Bud Light and Diet Coke?

I thought this thread was about beer, not bottled water....

AH!

This is the first time I have seen another one, Joe. Do you know if it is an Athearn car or something else?

A friend bought a large collection in 2017 and once he got out what he wanted for our club he left the rest with me to dispose of. I got to pick product for my work and I grabbed most of the billboard reefers like this.

The Jax car is an Athearn with custom paint by Show Me Lines.

Unfortunately they no longer produce new cars. From Charlie;

"After nearly twenty years, we're retiring from the custom car printing business. With Athearn's decision to no longer supply "blue box" kits, and rising costs for printing ink and plates, to say nothing of the age of the printer, we've decided to put the press away and devote all of our time and resources to our full service model railroad store"

They still run the hobby shop:

This site has been helpful to me

in identifying what I have and what's available;

http://www.hobeercars.com/mainpages/manufacturers.html

On that site it says Greenway has produced 105 cars, since I think it's more like 120, here's their link too.

If taking a look on the other side of the pond, many beer cars are in the catalogues of the

manufacturers  i.e. http://www.roco.cc, http://www.brawa.de, or http://www.piko.de.

Here is an old one  I still have from Jouef, dating back to my European style model railroading.
