Yay! MRH made it to the Union Pacific's "The Best Websites for Rail Fans" list. Here's a link:

that's nice

but I either get spinning beachball (Safari) or nowhere (Chrome) when I try to use the page to check out the sites listed.

Redirect seems broken....

UP tosses up the warning that you are leaving their website.... you click continue and it goes nowhere. Current version of Chrome (Version 79.0.3945.130).

Works

It worked for me on my S4 with Chrome. MRH is 9 of 14.

My Chrome doesn't bring up

My Chrome doesn't bring up the link either.  I get to the "leaving the site" pop-up, but the "continue button" kills the process.

On the positive side, it's really great to see all of the public relations type efforts UP is moving forward on.  Of course, the biggest would be the vintage equipment restorations such as the 4014.  No small effort on UP's part.

The Bush funeral train was a really nice touch and very well done.  A class act.

I think it is odd the YouTube

I think it is odd the YouTube was not listed at number #1 or listed at all.

No problems on my end with either Firefox or Chrome

Here are a couple of screen shots showing the web site using both the Firefox and Chrome browsers. No delay either. Maybe it's a network issue or their web server is overloaded.

Clicking on the link from the UP web site to the MRH web site did trigger Chrome's pop-up blocker that I have enabled, but when I white-listed the UP web site, the MRH site came up without a problem.

Was this the cause of some of the spinning beach balls of death?

It's the pop-up blocker

I think Tom correctly diagnosed the problem - I whitelisted the UP site with Chrome's pop-up blocker and all is good now.

Wow! Great! ...

... I had no problem with Firefox on Win 7. They could add the MRH YouTube channel in the MRH list.

This may add to growth of the MRH subscribers list.

I am happy to see Virtual Railfan listed. They covered the Amherst this year and I have used them in following UP Big Boy/Living Legend.

Gee guys, I know SP was a great line (and it still is within UP), but the merger was inevitable. Give UP a break (I'm sure they kept a few of the SP folk). I was a fan of ATSF (Santa Fe, now part of BNSF), but I moved on to UP.

Going out of your way to screw up

It’s kind of funny that they went to a lot of extra trouble to put up a dialog warning you that “you’re leaving the UP website” and then try to open the target site in a new window (which of course means the original window is NOT leaving the UP web site after all) and do it in such a way that it fails in widely popular browsers.  Clearly someone doesn’t get the web there.

Neat that they list MRH though.

Leaving the web site message

I don't get that message - I suspect it is due to your preferences in your browser and not the UP web site.

Perhaps you may need to set "open in a new tab" as your default setting.

If you copy the link in the OP and then paste it in the browser location bar when the browser is showing a blank page (about:blank), do you get the message?

Lancaster Central RR

I spent the last two hours on sites on the list. The links work

On an IPad. #9 is pretty good. I haven’t thought about Railserve in years until I saw it on the list.

It’s convenient that their domain name is up.com .
