Much superior to the previous website

So glad that someone is continuing with NWSL, and the new websight is much easier to navigate and see the products.  I see they are still loading images and adding products.

 It is worthwhile to check out their facebook page - they have some videos of the tiny gears and things being manufactured.

Bernd,  Not to take your

Bernd,

Not to take your thread too far off track but what would you recommend to build a little "backwoods critter loco"?

@Michael

You're not taking away from the thread. If it gets too intense we can start another thread. It's morning and I'm heading to Syracuse fairgrounds for my first train show of the year. I'll get back to you when I get back with some thoughts and perhaps new thread.

I'm in the very early stages

I'm in the very early stages of thought of what my critter would even be but it's always seemed to me I would need some sort of powered truck or trucks from NWSL or Bowser. Beyond that, the idea is still very abstract.

Maybe this could serve as a place for possible questions and suggestions for repairs or up grades.

Wheels sets for Proto 2000 FA1

Many years ago I replaced the wheel sets in a few Life Like Proto 2000 FA1s. I think the wheels were stainless steel? Maybe? Would anyone know what the part number or size would be that I would need to do a few more of these? The website doesn't say.

Robert Gross:

Your P2K FA's should use the same wheel as the Athearn-type split axle wheels. NWSL's wheels were "nickle silver" plated. I used the more common 40" variety for my wheel replacements.

Hope this proves to be correct and is a help.
