Let me first say that I hate electircal work, but I am making this my "contest model" so it has to have interior lighting. Here are the first 5 lights in place which will be in the retail portion of the shop. I plan on having about 12 lights in the shop section with another 20 in the lumber yard section. I still am trying to figure out the best way to do things and I am pretty happy with the results so far.

Greg you have found your nitch in Life

That is some very good electrical work, all you need now is a fork lift and a few stacks of lumber to finish the picture. I like those drop lights, they look very much like the lighting in the hardwood room of my old lumber store (I didn't own it I just bought all my hardwood there).

Keep up the modeling it is really very good.

Thanks guys!!!!

I am pretty happy with the way it turned out, but it still was a PIA. In between very exciting football games yesterday I added some paint and placed some details I had made for the interior for photos. It sure is coming along but it looks like I am going to need a lot more details... I will next turn my attention to the upstairs and get the office and storage space in place, then more lights.

This is very realistic.  When

This is very realistic.  When I saw the first opening picture, I thought this was your layout room and was looking for the model.  Finally I realized that this WAS the model.   BTW - very jealous - I was on the road Friday and didn't get to see my team play and win.

Amazing

That is amazing, Greg. I can see why this project is going slow, your detail is outstanding. The view through the window is very convincing. Well done.

Wow!

That's really all I can say.  This is the level of detail I want on my future HO layout, which means it will likely be fairly small to be able to finish it before I die.

Thanks!!!

Thanks guys for the words of encouragment!!

It is amazing how many parts can get gobbled up by such a small space. I know I could have used paper and pictures, but  I want this to be a showcase type building.

I have already started work on the sales counter adding some displays and what not. I am still waiting for a cash register, toilet, sink and other assorted details before the downstairs witll be done.

I hope...

this building will be up front so visitors can appreciate all the work you're putting into your store Greg. It's turning out really nice.

Roy...

Everything is for SALE...for the right price

Ok so most people like to clean their attic occasionally, I am trying to fill mine full of junk ...

The plan is to have a pulley and an arm so materials can be lifted to the storage loft. I have bunch more details to add, but they are still being finished and painted.

Just put it upstairs....

When the owner of the Tum-A-Lum Lumber hardware store does not know what to do with something he tells the guys to "just put it upstairs."  You never know when a customer comes looking for a special part with money in their pocket. As the boss says, " A sale is a sale." Now the only problem is finding the part when you go up there to look for it...

Looking good

Looking good, Greg. I am anxiously awaiting the pulley and arm (gantry?) addition.
