As Promised here are the Pictures of my Scrap yard,

I built the crane by using an old Railroad crane and kit bashing it some Bulldozer treads

the Scrap metal is actual scrap shards from metal milling. For the ground coverage i combined Woodland Scenics Fine Turf,-  Soil, Earth and burnt grass , medium green. and some saw dust

sprayed it down with some Alcohol mix , and glue water mix applied with a squirt bottle. Background is actual

Is that stuff sharp?

??? If I might make a suggestion, maybe you should use a wash to tone down the silver color some and dull it. Or maybe it's just the lighting? It looks good so far though.

...

The bright silver is matching the appearance of freshly shredded scrap metal rather well...Compared with the scrapyard we have in south tucson

Large Scrap demolition

Since railcars are demolished using a large shear, you might want to try to find a discontinued (sorry about that) Herpa New Holland E245 Demolition crane (326-6496).  I have one somewhere...  Nice model.  Bought to go into my future scrap yard.
