Has anyone tried this or knows whether this is working?

My old throttle has given the ghost after 13 yrs and since I run a small switching layout with 3 loco's max, I don't really see the need to invest and/or upgrade. Just looking to replace the throttle.

Sent a question to MRC, who do not seem to respond so I wonder anyone here might know whether I can add the newer throttle to the older command station to get back up and running again.

Many thanks!

I've used

I've used PA2 throttles on the Express2 and vice-versa, but never with an older Prodigy system.

I prefer the Express2 throttle because it has 13 function buttons.

I have NEVER gotten MRC to respond to any email I have ever sent! I've got an Express2 that needs repair and they will not even talk to me about it.

That helped me decide...

I thought I was just unlucky not getting a response.

As luck would have it, a nearly new NCE Powercab system is available for the price of the MRC throttle. So I will probably go for that instead!

Thanks for the response...!

If I did not

If I did not already have MRC, I would have NCE. I've used it on the Crescent City Layout in New Orleans and really like how it works.

Slow response time

I had to send in a throttle a few years back and it took a few months of trying to get a response from MRC.  Once I did send the throttle in, it came back as a problem with the power supply.  The cheap (non UL Listed!) power supply they sent recently gave up the ghost after only a few (4?) years and I replaced it with a better one from Amazon.  Problem solved in TWO days with no shipping cost to and from MRC.

So unless you are sure it is the throttle, check the power supply.
