I've been waiting on the later phase F40PH s for a long time. Finally coming! The Ski Train will be cool but I model caboose era D&RGW (pre1985) which predates the Ski Train which is post 1988.

That's Walthers for you.  I've noticed the Walthers Horizon cars on Ebay have been advertised at relatively high prices.  Maybe this will knock the wind out of those sales.  If I need Horizon cars, I'd leave the high priced Walthers eBay cars to collect electron dust.

I'm getting rid of..

I'm getting rid of all my Walthers Horizon cars and the old Amfleet cars, they run just terrible. I figure we're looking at maybe end of 2020 or early 2021 for these. It's worth the wait, they make great product! The only Amfleet cars that run fairly well were the cars they did in a six set run with the 'stainless look' sides. I'll keep them...

I've heard that too about the Amfleet cars - horrible runners.  Thankfully I haven't needed any.

Now that Athearn has announced a Genesis SDP40F with ice cycle breakers, I've been working on building a mid-late 1970's San Francisco Zephyr with phase one pointless arrow and phase 2 paint.  Fortunately it seems Walthers offered heritage type cars from Budd, AC&F and P-S that work pretty well for that train, as well as the Amtrak painted BLI ex-CZ cars.
