A few weeks ago, a friend gave me an N-Scale farm silo (already assembled) that he did not need since he models in HO.

There are two farms on the ATSF Paradigm Division. I had used a previous designed & 3D printed oil storage tank as a basis for the original two silos that I had put on the layout. However, I really did not like them because they just didn't look right. So with the gift of the silo from my friend, I finally had a decent model of a farm silo so I decided to try to see if I could duplicate it so the original ones could be replaced. The assembled silo that my friend gave me provided an excellent dimensional reference item.

The 3D design is made up of three (3) main parts, namely, the silo structure, the top, & the filling structure (on the back).  I was pretty pleased with the results so I decided to share them both on my YouTube channel & my MRH Blog. The parts were designed in XYZMaker & printed on an XYZ daVinci 1.0 Pro 3D printer. The filament used was PLA. After painting both structures, I used a wash of liquid Testors Dullcoat which I like a lot more than the spray version.
