Make your own - any size, any diameter

You can make an unlimited number of very inexpensive lift eyes / lift bolts / eyelets in a very short amount of time.

Chuck a wire size drill bit in a pin vice. Take a small gauge piece of electrical wire. Wrap the wire around the shank of the drill bit and twist the ends tightly together. Cut off the excess wire end and slide off the eyelet.

The process is very quick.

Most folks have a #80 drill bit in their tool assortment (smaller sizes can be obtained) and most likely 30ga decoder wire. These will make a eyelet with an ID of 1.18 inches with the eye ring being 7/8 inch thick (HO scale).

Need smaller, a #84 drill bit and 36ga wire will make an eye with a 1 inch ID and a thickness of 1/2 inch (HO scale).

For other sizes just choose different drill bits and wire sizes.
