The first video shows the newest addition to the industrial area along the East Helix (that goes to/from Union Station) and that is the Sunbeam Bread Factory. The building was originally a DPM Woods Furniture Factory but has been changed to the Sunbeam Bread Factory (especially after I found a Sunbeam Bread animated sign).  Over the years I must have lost all of the white metal castings that came with the DPM kit (since I could not find them after looking for a couple of days) so I made replacements on my 3D Printer (da Vinci 1.0 Pro).  The big flashing Sunbeam sign is from Miller Engineering & the sign frame is 3D printed & glued to the back of the sign while being careful not to get any glue onto the electrical contacts. The completed Sunbeam building will be re-installed back into position along its siding in the back left corner behind the engine facility after the concrete retaining walls are painted and re-installed behind the building along the back wall.

he second video shows some of the newer buildings/structures back in place on the layout after a lot of the background painting has been completed.  First, there is the newly assembled & painted Hole-in-One Donut Shop (Walther's kit) in place  along the road near the Paradigm Station building.  Please note the extra decorations (real candy sprinkles) added to the big donut sign. A lot of the buildings that were temporarily removed for background painting on the wall were also re-installed with the ATSF Stock Feed Lot in Morris that is also highlighted in this video.  Finally, the concrete retaining wall has been painted & re-installed along the back wall to the left of Union Station.  This has now allowed the placement of the Sunbeam Bread Factory building (from the first video) along its siding in the left back corner behind the engine facility.

The next building project that I am working on is the Union Pacific Freight building that is located just to the right of the two power plants shown in February.  The UP facility is composed of two DPM buildings that were put together about 18 years ago and will need some painting & accessories added.

Thanks

Bill,

Putting the N-Scale donut shop kit together (about 10 parts as I recall) was a lot of fun.  My wife suggested that I add the sprinkles to the large donut.

Sprinkles

Very nice updates and videos John. I have to admit that when I saw the donut shop, the first thing that came to mind was the GEICO commercial where the oil drillers hit soft serve ice cream and then the motherlode of sprinkles..

The Added Buildings

I just love all the buildings. The donut shop without the donut on the roof would look like an old Dairy Queen we had in Belleville,Illinois.   Outstanding job...Bill!   All The Best!    MoPac Jack...

Sprinkles & Ice Cream

Thank you for your comments. I asked my wife what she thought about how I should decorate the donut & she said with sprinkles. Also, I absolutely love that new commercial with the soft serve ice cream too.

Thanks

Hi Bill,  Thanks for your comments.  There was a donut shop in a North Texas small town called the Donut Hole that had a big donut on the roof (without sprinkles though).
