Well done, Rich.

Nice!

It made me think of pictures of Mike Confalone's layout.

RE: That’s the goal....

Yes, it is a high bar and I think you made it over. I wish I could get there.

looks good

Looks good,  the see the train thru the trees. Variety of how you view the train makes it work well.

Top Notch!

How did you make those conifers? Those are the best I've ever seen.

What material did you use for the long, dried weeds and grasses? they look great!

For the dead grass...

I used natural twine, unraveled and cut to random lengths

I opened your post and you won't guess what happened next . . .

I said, "oooh, that looks nice."  Spontaneously.  Excellent work.  Like others, I especially like the conifers and underbrush.  Thank you for sharing!

sage busch

Hi, All body,

This is my first post and I'm not sure if it is the correct place to post it, anyway here is my issue hoping that somebody can help with it.

I'm living in an area where they aren't sage bushes (abroad USA), I seek for them to make my own trees and experiment with them, I know that there is a firm supertree or  similar that sold them (very expensive) so I'm seeking someone who knows if there is another source or private that sold them (of course the shipping on me).

Thanks in advance for any information.

Ladrilo

PS: I don't know if I can or must publish my real name or mail.

We're pretty relaxed on the whole real name thing

It's not a requirement, although many people look on it as a courtesy.

There are always the contact forms if you need to send it to someone via email.

sage busch

Hi Steve and Jeff,

Thanks for your reply.

Ok, I'll post real name and mail.

As I said I'm abroad, I live in Israel in the north some distance from USA  so any help for the sagebrush or sage bush is welcome, I saw in the web various sites that sell dried stems but there are expensive  for a few stems they ask for more than 60$ and then add the shipping (that's is impossible to avoid) so the question is another possibility around?.

Thanks for anyone advice.

PS: There is a nice kind of "moss ball " that grow in some trees and I picked up for scenery use, If somebody needs I can send it (no cost for the moss) only shipping, from here to USA is very cheap. I added a picture, the unit are meter (cm).

sage busch

Hi Jim,

The issue is not the cover or to make the tree top, the sagebrush I want is for the trunk - branches.

And thanks for your reply ad idea.

Sedums??

Hi Mario,

Can you get hold of  sedum plants in your area? These are usually used as a groundcover plant.

See  https://forum.mrhmag.com/post/sedum-12200908 for some examples.

If you can these might be a way forward as well as the wire-armature method of "build your own" trees.

Let me know if this is an option for you and we can discuss it elsewhere on here (probably in the sedum thread above that I mentioned.

Regards,

John Garaty
