This is a time lapse video update on the progress of the background painting taken during 1 to 16 December 2018. The painter (my daughter-in-law) will continue her work after the holidays.  The tornado & thunder storm areas are my favorite sections. When that area is completed, I will be installing one of the Broadway Limited Thunder & Lightning sets that I’ve had for over a year.

Hope that everyone has a a Merry Christmas, Happy New Year & overall Happy Holiday Season.

Backdrop painting

Great job! Wow. I've got the same issue with a layout level window. I cut and framed a piece of 1/8" Masonite to fit the lower 1/3 of the window. It slips in and out.....easily. I painted it to match the rest of the backdrop. Easy fix.

The Windows

Mark, Thanks for the tip but the two windows are still used for ventilation.  I just visually ignore them.  Merry Christmas & Happy New Year....John

Where's the Trailer?

I'm thinking flying alongside the cow.

has the trailer already been hit?

You know, a trailer, as in trailer park. As in mobile home. As in> tornado magnet<. What do a tornado and an Alabama divorce have in common? Somebody's losing a trailer. True story: about 25 years ago a tornado took aim at downtown Breman, Georgia. Bigger than your average southern town, Breman (bree-mun) then had about three blocks of commercial buildings, two metal-sided textile plants, an auto dealership, and one mobile home manufacturing plant. Yep, the twister hit _only_ the mobile home plant. The auto dealership suffered collateral damage and closed. Twisters are attracted to trailers, period. Seriously, mobile homes are very under-modeled on model railroads. Just sayin'. Scott Chatfield

Well done.

Those are great looking clouds. Is there a video, or step by step tutorial of how she is creating these? They look fantastic.

Great Paint Job......

Great Paint Job!   I don't know anybody were I live that paints like that. I certainly Don't!   I'll have to go for an applied backdrop…...

The BLI Lightening Thunder set will be a neat addition. Now have to figure out the rain?.....

I had a window in that position, but had a horizontal one installed in the construction of the train space, so now the bottom of it is above the logging incline.  Bought a set of wood blinds, painted them on the inside with the blue I used for sky color.

Trailer

Thanks.  I will ask her if that can be done.  I do have a trailer park area in the town of Paradigm (Holliday) that definitely could contribute one....John

Thanks

You have guessed why I did not do the clouds because I have absolutely no talent for painting backdrops. I will ask my daughter-in-law if she would want to put together a tutorial.....John

Jerry, The BLI system does have rain, frogs, crickets and dogs barking sounds...John
