It sure is great when you have a family member that is fully capable & interested in doing the one thing for your layout that you aren’t really capable of doing.  I am not a background scenery painter by any means but my newest daughter-in-law certainly is. The video shows just the first two afternoons of her work of which I am most appreciative

During the time that she will be painting, the layout will be basically out of action since large sections have had to have buildings, rolling stock, etc, either moved down to the staging level or stacked up someplace while the track is covered with drop cloths.  I believe that she is doing a fabulous job.  There was a couple of items that I wanted added, a UFO in the clouds and a large thunderstorm in one section of the back wall.  A Broadway Limited thunderstorm system (that I already have) will be installed in that area that represents tornado alley in Kansas & Oklahoma.  I will post additional progress over the next several weeks as she continues (time permitting) around the wall to the West Helix.  The last area to have its background scenery painted will be the Union Station area as I will have to bring in some tables to put all of the engines, rollings stock, and structures in safe places during the painting.

A time lapse video of her

A time lapse video of her working would be neat to see.

You are Right

Thanks Jack. Yes there are 2 UFOs.  She works at a job during the week (unlike myself who is retired) so she can only spend time painting on the weekends unless she has something else to do.  I do plan on posting more as she progresses.

I will have to ask

TJ, I will have to ask her as she told me to leave for the afternoon & would call me out to the layout when I could look.
