Being rather fond of organization, I started assembling Project Logs for my locomotives.

Sample Packet

Each log beings with a cover sheet, listing the parts used, decoder installed, and finishing information if applicable:Data001.jpg

Next come any prototype reference photos:Data004.jpg Followed by under construction model photos (if any):

And lastly photos of the completed model:

Eventually the JMRI/Decoder Pro data sheet for each locomotive will be included.

The older I get

the more I need to write stuff down!  Nick your idea is great!

I’ve used a logbook, a gift from a civil engineering buddy, and wrote down a lot of details in it.

It’s nice because I can draw rough scaled pictures in it.  But most of all it extends my cranial hard drive a bit....

Next I will have to remember how to organize my logs.

And remember capture and not step on de tail.

Have a good!

Great example

i like the idea with great examples.  I find Nick's response hilariously funny.  First, another example, then some real time concerns!  Thanks for the ideas and making me laugh.

That’s a great idea. If I can

That’s a great idea. If I can add a suggestion: Maybe add the CV’s that you have adjusted in case you ever have to reset the decoder.

Decoder Pro

Jeff,

I use Decoder Pro, and will be adding the Decoder Pro data sheet to the locomotive packet.
