I have been wanting to be able to have a more realistic view (like viewing thru the window of an EMD F3/7) on my N-Scale layout during track level runs. I designed and 3-D printed three different versions of an aperture to cover my Polaroid Cube + mini camera.  The three different views are shown in the YouTube video.

Additionally, I found the design for an N-Scale depressed center flatcar on thingiverse.com (free download), titled “3D Printed Cam Car” done by ahyanchan, published 16 Jan 2015 ( https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:638824).  It was designed to carry a Sony HDR-AZ1 camera (which is too tall for my layout).  I modified the car design to carry my camera and printed it on my 3D printer. I had a couple extra MicroTrains trucks laying around so I put them to use on the car.  The new car frees up the previous camera car to return to duty on the layout carrying loads.

Layout Video

Nice  trackside video.  Although I prefer a panoramic view of most layouts.  Thanks for sharing.

Track Views with Camera

Thanks for the comments.  The aperture or cover is not permanently attached to the flat car so wide angle views will still be used.
