At the moment, I've put a premature version of the new layout online, so Carendt.com is heavily under construction. All old content should still be available and I’ve added a community/forum to the website. In the following weeks, lots of polishing will be done to this new layout so everything should look great soon!
I've decided to go live a little too soon so I could add the community a little sooner and polish the site using your feedback.
I'm really curious what you think about the new Carendt.com. Please don't forget to let me know what you think by hitting Reply or add to the discussion in this topic: http://www.carendt.com/community/topic/the-new-carendt-com-what-do-you-think/

Pulled me back in

Carendt is what pulled me back into the community. I didn't have a lot of money or time for Model Railroading back then but this site convinced me that I didn't need either to find fun and success within the hobby.

If I have to be critical though, the site really needs pictures. All of those section boxes should be populated with photography.

Some thoughts

The new version is fairly mobile friendly, which I like. The dark blue on the blue background is a little hard to read and some of the pages have very small text. Others are good.

The forum seems very straight forward except on how to login, create a user account, ...  I added my name to the subscriber list but not sure if that will direct me to a login page.

I realize that this is under construction. The sections that index new issues really need more content or a cover photo to get me to “Read Now”. These could simply be links as presented and not require guessing what each issue contains or why I would be compelled to click.

The content is still great. I look forward to seeing updates.
