City of Prineville in Redmond Oregon Free-Mo/Shelf Layout

Mountaingoatgreg's picture

Hello everybody,

Thought I would say hello and show you what I am working on...

I have never had my own layout so after deciding I had the space in my " Train Room"  to build a shelf style layout I worked on a design and a concept to get started, here is what I have so far. Being as I was already working on Free-Mo version of Redmond I decided incorporate a piece  SP&S Oregon Trunk into my fictious rendition of the City of Prineville. In my revisionist history the the COP built straight into Redmond in order to gain access to customers and "stick it" to the SP&S for not building to Prineville. After some tense years the OT and COP came to an agreement allowing the COP to work the some customers in town on the jointly operated line. The UP and SP&S will also have assigned swithcers that willbe required to do switching on the layout. This really is just my excuse to have three diffrernt sets of power I can swap out and have on the layout when ever I need a change. This will also allow me to mix things up for operations and change the "goal" of the operation.

So here are a few of my progress shots starting from May of this year:

I have been keeping track of my progress on my blog, if you are interested please check it out at:

Sky

Nice job on painting that clear blue sky on a cold day with a touch of stratus clouds.

Art,Thanks for the

Art,

Thanks for the comment...I am still "in process" on the backdrop as I have some areas I need to fix. I also need a good picture of Three Sisters taken from Redmond to paint on the backdrop. I also have been thinking about using some of the great techniques using printed photos.
