To All: The South Florida Railroad was established in 1879 and eventually stretched from Sanford to Tampa, Florida. The line was obtained by the Plant System in 1893 and then by the Atlantic Coast Line in 1902. The Tampa Union Station (a beautifully restored station used by Amtrak) had the SF RR as a tenant. Today the former SF main line is CSX's A Line. I painted, lettered and weathered this "What If" 50 foot boxcar to honor this pioneering Florida railroad.Photo by Elvin Howland.
