Hi friends,

been some time, I know, but summertime for me meens "burning rubber" time. Today tho, I was in need to do some modeling. Still had the "rapido" telephone poles standing on the layout without the lines, since when I tried to install them the first time, it all whent "kinda" wrong, lol. So afther some modifications (cutting off the lowest insulator's row, filling the gaps and repainting the poles with a mild weathering afther) I grabbed my EZ line thread (black-fine) and started the journey. I must say that at one point, I almost lost it...but a cigarette later, I was back in business. So afther 2 hours and some... I grabbed the digi-cam and took some pics to show you the results. Hope you can capture the feel, since the pictures don't realy do them justice. But it is wat it is, I am still not a pro when it comes to taking pictures....hope you enjoy.

I also did some weathering on the BLMA elecrtric boxes...(don't even know if it shows on the pictures)...ok here we go...

tried to put some sagging in the wires, not overdoing it and trying a different sagg in every wire...

BLMA, weathered some.

Voilà, that's it for today...tomorow going to work some on the sanding tower and the fuel stands for my diesel maintenance area...have a good one all...................

Nicely Done

Your line poles turned out very nice from what I can see. I have a set of those Rapido pre-strung still in the box myself. I've heard a lot of stories of disasters when installing. I hope mine go up smoothly. Looks pretty tedious stringing them by hand, but yours appear to have been worth the effort. Nice looking scene too btw.

Looks Good!

Wow, that's a lot of wires on those poles, must be downtown metroville!

The sag looks pretty good, some of the best modeled lines I've seen.

Thanks for sharing.

telephone poles

Thank you all for the nice comments,

lmao Dan....it's only afther a good hour, sitting downstairs watching a movie I got it........geee, my brain is slow today.....lmao

It is not so a tedious job, if you take your time and whilst doing it, you put a podcast about modelrailroading on in the background. And if you are about to give up on it , you sit back and enjoy wat you already have done.

don't worry Joe, you are doing the same to me when I am looking at pictures of the Siskyou line,  I just wish, one day I could attend to an ops session...You might be in for a good laugh, since all my US of A friends tell me I have an Awnuld accent....

"I'll be back"...lol

Great job.

You did a great job, Jappe. The weathering was visible. Nicely done, IMO.

Very natural an believable. I

Very natural an believable. I Like it. not just the wires, but the whole scene! There  has always been some discussion regards to dust collecting on strung wires, hence few decades ago the trend was not to string actual wires. My layout does not call for wires anyway, but just curious regards to experince to dust collection and how to clean them.

The entire scene looks believable

I just wanted to say that I like the ENTIRE scene, not just the telephone poles. The ballast looks right, and I like the road grime and oil stains on the road. Vehicles can make or break a scene and your choice was also right on there as well. Is that Silflor I see? I love that stuff.

Palm tree's and Pine tree's....hmmmm I'd love to get away with that, but I model Iowa
