Hi all,

I have started experimenting with pouring "water" using Envirotex Lite.

I have seen some people colour the Envirotex using pigments, but I was wondering if it's possible to use paint, either oil or water based to apply a colour during mixing.

To buy the pigment is quite expensive, and you end up using just the smallest amount.

Has anyone used paint to colour the Envirotex?

Cheers.

Yes, it can be tinted with enamels, I suggest using a toothpick and a drop at a time.

I'm experimenting with this

I'm experimenting with this stuff.

But the tint tends to sink to the bottom so I'm guessing this must be done in very thin coats?

Another technique is to paint

Another technique is to paint between pours...this bog was done by detailing the bottom, and then making a pour but I wasn't satisfied so I used acrylic paint on the surface of the cured epoxy resin, let that dry and then did a second pour over the top....%20Bog-1.jpg

Micheal, I will do this also

Micheal, I will do this also while experimenting. Thanks.

Another option I'm thinking about is to have it look like this. I achieved this temporary look by just misting the basin of my estuary. Now if I could duplicate this somehow with some sort of permanent medium, I might be satisfied, as it looks like the muddy basin with some pools of water.
