When you're in the U.K., there are always too many trains and too little time. I can't post what's on my phone, but I can link to some YouTube videos that illustrate what I'm seeing.

First up, "Flying Scotsman" on "The Waverly" excursion from York to Carlisle via the world famous Settle Carlisle line. I was on the train (3rd coach back from the engine on August 13 when the short video below was made. It was also posted to YouTube before I returned to the hotel in York. "Flying Scotsman" slips badly toward the end of the clip, so badly that I suspect foul play given that it was the only slip I remember from the entire day long trip.

Yesterday, my wife and I rode the Welsh Highland Railway from Porthmadog, Wales to Caernarfon and return. The WHR video was actually shot a week ago and includes some pacing "footage" of 2-6-2+2-6-2 Garratt #87.

Today, we rode from Porthmadog to Blaenau Ffestiniog. Our locomotive was "Earl of Merioneth", built in house by the Ffestiniog in 1979 at their shops at Boston Lodge, just across the causeway from Porthmadog.

and, to crown their disgraceful proceedings and add insult to injury, they threw me over the Niagara Falls, and I got wet.

Forgot to add

You probably heard the sound of an aircraft in the Ribblehead video. That was someone flying a gyrocopter (think the Bond flick, "You Only Live Twice"). Here's video from that aircraft.

On the way back, we were chased by a couple of ultra lights.

Ah, Ribblehead and the S&C!

Only thing better than the Flying Scotsman would have been a Black 5 on this former LMS née Midland route. But nonetheless, thank you for posting the video!
