To All: Jeff Barker, a fellow member of the First Coast Model Railroad Society, gave me a copy of a Great Northern Historical Society Data Sheet of a GN Water/Fuel/Tool Car. I used a fifty foot flat car I had on hand (the prototype was a 40 foot flat) as the base for my scratch built M of W car. I lettered and weathered the car in the E. St. Louis Rail Group scheme. Very unique....

Ok Elvin...you have peeked my interest. I am guessing since there is no access door on the wood building side, that it is a container. I see no access hatch or filling fittings, so how was it used ? Since the opposite side is obviously a re-purposed tender, I am guessing it held fuel ? Or is it vice-versa ? I saw the lifting rings...so it was removable ? Really cool car...and now I am going to have to build one also ! Google search only turned up the GN data sheet availability...but nothing on the car itself.

Thanks for sharing !

GN M of W Car

Michael Watson: The GN Data Sheet did not state what the car was, unfortunately. The Fuel?Water tank has a filler hatch. The shed end was corrugated steel (old freight car doors)  There is a passage door on the brake end. Yours, E.H.
