Okay, so... I can't comment!

I log into this forum, and it will let me blog, sure... but if I try to comment on any thread, it logs me out, and tells me I have to log in to make a comment (deleting whatever comment I've typed)

Also, if I go to another page, it does the same thing. So, say I'm reading a new message, and there are more new messages on the next page, when I go, I'm logged out again.

I have no idea how to fix this!

It was doing it to me as

It was doing it to me as well, I suspect something with the server. I sent an email in to the contact us page. I have just gone to my second topic this one and will see if i can get to more before it boots me out again.

Is this the MRH site?

Is this the MRH site you're talking about? If so, then what browser and device are you using? Have you tried clearing the cache of all MRH cookies?

It's this very forum.

I'm using Firefox, on a Windows 10 PC. This started yesterday... I was able to post a comment, but it took me four tries, and four times having to log in.

I just tried changing my password, to see if that does something.

Hmmm...

Seems to be working... but, I will need to comment on a thread NOT started by me to be sure.

Wierd

Wierd. It's working great here on my many devices ... Windows 10 PC with Chrome, Firefox on my iPad and Chrome on the office Mac. For what it's worth, I tend not to use Firefox on Windows, because it's become one of the more buggy browsers on Windows for me. Each release they do seems to introduce more odd bugs. Firefox works very nicely on an iPad, however.

still broke

Okay, so, it's logged me out several times this session, and this will be my 5th attempt at posting this reply (making sure I copy, so as to save time having to retype everything)

I think I'm going to go check my settings... just to make sure I didn't do something stupid that's causing this.

I've been booted too..

Hi Joe and the Tech team,

I had the same problem after posting a reply earlier today - logged out by system after posting, then had to log back in after each post several times. It looked like the post didn't go through, but it had when I checked..

Hmm I wonder if that's why there's been an increased incidence of double posts in the last few days??  I noticed that yesterday.

Running Chorme on the IBM side of a Macbook.Pro.

just got thrown again

20 minutes or so after checking that the last posting had gone through OK (it had)  I then clicked "Recent Posts" and then got turfed out in the current tab.

hoping that this helps the fault finding.

Post Recovery

Dear "I got logged out" members, Remember that you can restore where you were up to in writing a post by using the restore function at bottom right of the post box... Happy modelling, Aim to Improve, Prof Klyzlr

another fault log

just got dropped when, after successfully viewing 2 pages in the  latest weekly photos, I clicked the page ID to go to the last page currently - I'm not sure whether I got to that last page, but the Login button was back at top right.

Same here...

If I start on the first page of a post, I MIGHT be able to get to the second.. but I'll be logged off before I reach the third.

I'm seeing that I'm not the only one having this issue. I thought it might be my settings, or Firefox, but it looks like it's hitting other browsers as well.

Oh, and there is no "Restore" function at the bottom of the post box. It would be nice if there was.

That post...

Took me only three times having to log in to post.

" --- " and "Broom" buttons

Dear WarFlight,

Look for the " --- " button at bottom right of the post box,

click it to pop a sequence menu of the timestamped saves of your posting-history...

The "Broom" button will clear the history list, making it easier to track which timestamps relate to what post...
(hit the posting page,
click the broom to clear the timestamped list,
then start typing and the fresh timestamped list entries should be current...)

Are you using Firefox 32- or 64-bit? What version?

I use FF 64-bit, now on version 55, no apparent issues other than that the 64-bit version isn't compatible with every FF plugin available.

Firefox and cookies

I use Firefox and it does seem to have issues with deleting login cookies at random times.

Sounds like version 56 will

Sounds like version 56 will be avAilable soon, at least it seems like as soon as an issue shows up a new version follows

We've contacted our site host for insight

Since this is intermittent and appears limited to just some of you, that suggests there is a local system commonality between all of you that's causing this. Something probably changed in the last week on your systems (don't you just love auto-update?) and it's triggered an issue. I'm not expecting our site host to be the issue, otherwise everyone would be saying there is a problem. We'll keep our fingers crossed and hope they have some insights. Maybe, maybe not. Session management happens on this site through cookies. So something is awry with cookie management in your browser(s) to create this odd behavior.
