Im looking for some inspiration on achievable scenes in narrow spaces.

I am planing a multi deck layout in 20' x 10' space and some sections I am considering narrow scenes.

I wanted people to share what they have achieved in less that 10" layout decks.

One section I believe will be 8" x 96" this will occur twice as the layout heads into a helix and when it comes pout at the top after 3 turns. I want each of these sections to allow passing of a full train length 8 x 40ft cars + Loco and Cabose (64").

Really appreciate any pictures and inspiration. I am sure im not the only one with these challanges.

Kentmere

In 8" you will have room for about 3 tracks at any given point.  I have a shallow lower level switching area, the Kentmere Branch, its about 10" deep and 12 ft long.  Most of the buildings are shallow against the backdrop.

Thanks Dave, That is the kind

Thanks Dave,

That is the kind of thing im after. I have a 20' x 10 ' room and plan to have a peninsula down the center that contains the two main yards each accessed from a different side of the peninsula. The around the walls segment i want to achieve long sweeping run and passing sidings in less than 12 inch wide decks.

I am actually considering up to 3 levels in this space if i can achieve a long narrow deck on the bottom level.

Looks like you have squezzed a lot into the narrow space there.
