We're starting to sell books now on Amazon. The first two books are:

Make it run like a Dream: Trackwork ( http://a.co/cv7AV9t)

-- and --

THE Model Railroad Hobbyist’s Guide to acrylic painting ( http://a.co/0f8RpjA)

HOW YOU CAN HELP

How can you help? If you have one of these two books and you shop on Amazon now and then, can you click one of the links above and post a book review for us?

Thanks!

Trackwork book

Joe,

I purchased your trackwork book from Amazon. I'll be sure to give it a good review, especially since it has a wealth of knowledge. I am looking forward to the next book in the series now.

Thanks, Tim. This call for reviews is to just get some honest "here's what I think" reviews on these books from those of you who have the books. The more the merrier.

MRH Books at Amazon.com

Shameless plug for my favorite railroad: if you go to https://smile.amazon.comyou can designate a non-profit  organization (such as Friends of the Cumbress & Toltec Railroad, Inc. ) to receive a percentage of your purchases. Yes, the name is misspelled, but that is how Amazon lists it. Or try this link: http://ngdiscussion.net/phorum/read.php?1,326731,326735#msg-326735

Kindle format

Of course we have, but because they're illustration-heavy, they have to be completely repasted up to generate a kindle format and that's at least 40 hours of work to pasteup, test, adjust, test, adjust, and test. It's on the to-do list but the list of books to repaste is long and we have other projects that need done too, so it remains on the back burner.

Eventually, we hope to do just that.

Review added

Joe, as requested I have added a review of the track-work book. A great job and wealth of information.

I am looking forward to the next 2 books.

Glad to help out.

Kindle Format

I love my Kindle, but have to concede that it's not very good when it comes to displaying illustrations. And let's not forget Kindle is basically a black and white device. I really don't think the effort of reformatting the books would be worth it.

Cool!

This is what I love about Joe, and MRH... you guys noticed, he didn't do like most peple... he never askjed for "five stars", nor did he even ask for a "good review"... he's only asking for honest reviews!

Now THAT is integrity!

The longer I'm in this hobby, the more impressed I am with the folks in it.

(Oh, and I plan to get the book... finances permitting)

Don't forget that Joe also

Don't forget that Joe also offers the book on Lulu.com-

http://www.lulu.com/shop/joe-fugate/mrh-acrylic-painting-guide/paperback/product-22917144.html

If you like Joe's work, then this would be a better place to purchase it; If you purchase it though Amazon, Amazon keeps about 80% of Joe's profit margin compared to Lulu.

Joe- If you want to sell it as a downloadable PDF (which requires no reformatting), then you can do that through Lulu.com. I do books on a non Model RR hobby subject for a retirement hobby, and sell just as many in .pdf format as I do hard copy.
