70T.jpg A recent addition to the motive power fleet in the form of an New England Rail Services GE 70T with MU and drop steps.  It is pretty much bang on for several of the HBM&S 70 Tonners used at the smelter.  I am planning to model #5 as it was one of the frequent engines I saw around the plant, and the brass version is vastly superior to the Bachmann rendering.  About all that I need to do is add a "blat" horn and an exhaust stack extension and I'll be good to go.  Unfortunately it appears that no one makes an appropriate sound decoder for a 70T unless I have overlooked it.

I'll be using the custom decals I got from Precision Design Co. ( https://pdc.ca/rr/) that me and a couple of friends had done.  I'm looking forward to having this engine in service along with #1.  The fleet is coming together.

Would be interested to watch

Would be interested to watch the painting process on this loco when you get to it. Always enjoy people tackling there own loco detailing. The 70T make fantastic industrial locos. I modified a few of the bachmann units to Hon3 years ago.

That blue and yellow scheme is really nice to.

Once my steam era logging layout gets underway i can see a few GE 44 and 70's forming a modern era roster when i want a change.
