Amtrak fire

The excitement for the day in Camarillo was a "fire" onboard an Amtrak comuter locomotive.
Actually, it was a lot of billowing smoke from a "runaway HEP (head-end power) unit. Here's a photo taken by a friend of mine, with his cell phone. Credit our friends at Ventura County Fire Dept. (sister agency to the one I work at) for being on the scene Fast!

It looks like that Amtrak locomotive is taking after it's elderly ALCO ancestor. Well, it's one way to legaly break the California emissions law: have a locomotive spew black smoke like the steam locomotives of way back when did
I'm hopelessly clueless.
