which sound decoder should i put into my KATO dash 8-40CW engines they have an 8 pin plug in the top ill take some photos and post them.

These are some 20years old and are not ATLAS ones but edition 1 that kato did. I did have a dozen of them until i was recently burgled and these are two that were on my work bench getting some work done so they were saved.

Decoders

In the original Tsunami line were the KT series specifically for Katos. The basic Tsunami plug and play board format was modified to accommodate the Kato design and minimal soldering requirements. They came with LED lights and a plug in connection for the speaker. I have 6 or 7 of these. But any board will work presuming it contains the proper sound file. You will likely have to search some of the larger merchants such as Litchfield Station and others to try and find old stock.

If you prefer the board style over the hardwired approach, you can also use the new Tsunami 2 PNP series or the ESU Select Direct version. The T2 comes in a GE version and the ESU requires an sound file download.
