To All: Henry Plant (The Plant System) wanted a shorter route to Jacksonville, Florida. The long route was by way of DuPont, Georgia-Live Oak, Florida-Jacksonville, Florida. So in 1880 he formed the Waycross & Florida RR (the Waycross Short Line) and by 1881 the Florida portion out of Waycross, Georgia from the Florida state line to Jacksonville was named the East Florida Ry. By 1902 this line became a part of the Atlantic Coast Line RR and is now part of CSX. I painted, lettered and will weather this "What If" 40 foot boxcar, to honor this pioneer Florida railroad.
