To All: The Detroit Terminal RR was incorporated in 1905 to build a Belt Line around the city of Detroit. It was jointly owned by the Michigan Central, the Grand Trunk Western and the Lake Shore & Michigan Southern railroads. By the 1960's the road was in decline on account of auto plant closings, the exodus of industries from Detroit and declining neighborhoods. In 1984 the east end (the west end was abandoned} was merged into the Detroit area Conrail Shared Assets operation. I painted, lettered and weathered this "What If" boxcar for my pike.
