Fast Tracks SweepSticks track forming tools are:

Precise! - Shape commercial flextrack to you desired radius.  Confidently.
Inexpensive - Priced to allow a modeler to build a library of sizes.
Versatile - All curved and straight SweepSticks are interchangeable with each other.
Robust - Don't let the wood construction fool you, SweepSticks are cut from stable aircraft grade plywood.
Multiple Use - Can be used to form flextrack, plan a layout, or as a tool for hand laying trackwork.
Vast - A very large collection of radii are available, including custom sizes.

how many

Tim,

That looks like a great, useful product, even for us CVT users.  How many Sweepsticks do you get per box?  Or, put another way, what's the price per inch or foot?  Thanks.

Another question:  how do the Sweepsticks handle soldering in the immediate vicinity?

Price

Hi Don,

We sell these in a package of 2 10" lengths for $5.95.

Custom sizes are also available, made to your specifications.  Custom SweepSticks are produced for a surcharge of $5.00 and also come in packages of 2 10" lengths.

Soldering rail with the SweepSticks in place can be done, but just as with flextrack, excessive heat will shorten the life of the tools.

All these cool new tools ...

With all these cool new tools and fixtures now available that I didn't have when building the Siskiyou Line years ago ... Makes me want to start over because it's so much easier now to get great track work! Wow, too cool ...

Any tips

on adding in easements with these tools, Tim?  This looks like a fairly inexpensive method to not only mock up a layout, but also to make sure the curves are "right" when you are fastening them down.  I struggled with a couple kinks in one curve, but this should all but eliminate that.

Easements

While we don't have SweepSticks for easements available, the nature of the design allows for different sizes of radiuses to be joined together to form a spiral.

These will allow for simple easements to be created.

The video above gives a short overview on how SweepSticks are used to shape flextrack and how they can be used to lay trackwork.

Are these available in N Sale also?

I wouldn't expect anything less!

That's one of the things I really like about Fast Tracks - they go out of their way to make their products available for all scales and guages - so it doesn't surprise me that this latest product is also available across the board.

Way cool

Thanks, Tim.

You did it again.  A tool with multiple features, that makes our tracklaying efforts more like a hobby than work.
