I havent been paying a lot of attention to Walthers lately and noticed on their website I couldnt find the walls to build your own stuff. I saw Design Preservation though did and it looks identical except color. Did DPM but the Cornerstone stuff from walthers? And if so did anything change as far as fitting together?

I have some parts and pieces left over but of course no walls. Now I could use some.

DPM v Cornerstone

I may be wrong, but as I recall, DPM came out with the modular system before Walthers' Cornerstone.  My kits are packed away  right now but I believe the bricks sizes were different and the two systems were not compatible.

Walters still carries brick sheets that should match the size and pattern of their modular kits.

Yes, DPM was First, And....

DPM was first with their system by several years, and offered more variety of windows, walls, etc. than Walthers.

A few years back, DPM was bought by Woodland Scenics, and is now part of their line.  Can't comment on the difference in brick size or pattern between the two, as I have no kits from the Walthers system, but I wouldn't be surprised if they are different.

Perhaps you might find some of the Walthers walls on Ebay.  I looked a couple hours ago, but there were none.

Different Systems

The (now discontinued) Walthers and DPM modular systems are completely different.  None of the parts are interchangeable, and everything from the windows to the sizes and shapes of bricks differ.  They are somewhat similar in how they go together, but that's about it.  Walthers had some blowout sales to get rid of their modular line, hence why the Cornerstone modulars have disappeared from their site.

Paragon Heating Modular Kit

Hi Dagenham,

You can still find the Walthers modular kits on eBay now and then, Paragon Heating or the tanning factory, for example.

I've got N scale pieces left, if you need some, you can email me at: BruceNscale@Yahoo.com.  Pilasters are in very short supply.  Walthers didn't make enough of them to join all the walls they made.  I've used strip styrene and brick styrene strips as replacements in some buildings.

The DPM pre-dates Walters but

The DPM pre-dates Walters but at least 20 years.

I actually liked the Walthers system but the problem is it was packaged weird.

No Compatability

One solution that occurred to me a while back was to come up with my own modular system. Start with a basic brick wall a go from there. Do the casting with plaster or a resin of some sort. It will be different from everyone else's stuff.
