Using NCE DCC system is it OK to use the AR1 in the layout? I note that NCE do not make one and recommend PSX-AR. I have an AR1. Thanks Tom

If you already have the AR1,

If you already have the AR1, go ahead and use it. not going to hurt anything. The AR1 uses short detection to flip polarity so it can be used with any DCC system.

Try what you have

Our club started our DCC conversion with 100% Digitrax electronics. We found some problems, which we solved by changing to PSX and PSX-AR. So I recommend that you go ahead with using the device you have. If it doesn't work all the time then you can think and diddle with it, or the PSX-AR is a drop-in replacement,

Reversing Units

With ANY reversing product. use the standard large bus wires when wiring it between the main track and the reversing section.  A little voltage loss will mess up the 'trip' sensitivity of either the AR1 or the PSX...
