To All: I assembled, painted and lettered this BA&P Westerfield brand, 36 foot, craftsman boxcar kit for my layout. The BA&P RR was founded in 1892 as a common carrier for passenger and freight operation. It was built by the Anaconda Copper Mining Company and was electrified shortly after being built. The line was de-electrified in 1967 as the company converted to diesels. In 1985 the line was renamed Rarus Rwy. but by 2007 was renamed back to BA&P. Photo by Elvin Howland. Yours, Elvin Howland/E. Hi Elvin, what kit did you

Hi Elvin,

what kit did you use as the base for your BA&P boxcar, what is the length of the body, looks shorter than a typical 40' box.

Thomas

Very nice

Are you relying on old photos for the lettering information?

B&AP

I was in that area last Spring. The roundhouse and shops are still standing and have fencing around them. It is hard to see in while driving by, but I saw a bunch of deer feeding in the parking lot.

BA&P

Nice to see someone modeling something from the BA&P. They're still running strong here in Montana. I have visited their facility in a few times in Anaconda. They handle a lot of traffic out of Silver Bow, (Port of Montana) just west of Butte and I also see their trains running to Garrison Jct to the west. They use some of the old Milwaukee Road track to the west.
