Ok, we finally have the iPad in Canada came out June 1st) and have had a chance to play with it.

I downloaded GoodReader but I can't figure out how to download the magazine to the app.  I tried the "download now" link, but I need flash for that, so I tried the "click here for other download options", but there is no "Right click" on the iPad.

Any help would be appriciated.

By the way, the magazine looks great viewing it online with the iPad

iPad

 Here's what I did:

Press on the "Click here for other download options"

On the new screen, press-and-hold on the edition you want.  After a few seconds it will pop-up an option to "Copy".

Go into GoodReader, pick "Web Download", select "Enter URL", erase the default text, press-and-hold on the URL and select "Paste" when it pops up.  GoodReader will then download.

Enjoy!

Managing files

Don't forget, of if you didn't know, if you've already downloaded copies on your computer, you can move them to (or from) the iPad as well, direct into or from Goodreader.

With the iPad connected and iTunes open, click on apps, and scroll down. You'll see a window with all applications that have files that can be transported; Goodreader should show up in that window. Click on the appropiate application for it's file options.

Can you guess where mine live?

You can also go to Browse Web

You can also go to Browse web in GoodReader and then type:

http://model-railroad-hobbyist.com

Once you get to the MRH web page, tap alternative download options, then tap the Mac version link and select Download Linked File ... in a few minutes voila! MRH is on your iPad!

Longer term, I expect we're going to write a version of our download wizard that will work on an iPad ...

Thanks everyone

David, thanks for the instructions, I tried it and it works.

Joe, I was thinking that I needed the PDF version of the magazine for Good Reader hence was trying to download the PC version.  The Mac version is easier to download, I'll try that next time.

Scarpia, thanks for the sync info.  I usually download the embedded version to mt laptop as soon as it comes out.  I was looking for a way to download the standand version directly to my iPad when I was in Wi-Fi range so I cound read it when Wi-Fi was nor available.  I will use the information for doing back-ups though.

I can see using the iPad for reading e-zines the wave of the very near future as it is very portable, and with the current screen resolution, very easy to read.

Thanks again everyone for your help.
