Thank you to everyone that contributed to my little survey regarding the university project that I am pursuing. I have expanded my ideas as a result of the responses. I am still a long way from finalising the proposal and some 40 weeks away from having to complete a 10,000 word report on the project so there is some way to go to get this really sorted out before I start.

Can I just say that I was surprised at the forcefulness of some of the responders. Some almost willfully misunderstood what I was doing and others seemed to talk to me as a 10 year old child who couldn't understand the mysteries of car routing when I am actually 71 year old UK resident who has been attempting to model US outline since he was 10. It seems that some also misunderstood that this was the beginning of a process and not the end so any lack of knowledge that I have in this field has plenty of time to be resolved over the next 9 months as a good bit of the project is understanding and formalising the topic. 

Anyway, if you do wish to comment, please feel free as I can do with all the input I can get (but try and remember the, as MR used to say, Model Railroading is FUN!
